Mix Tape Madness

By Nils Geylen

I love mix tapes, and I love these old cassettes, so I was bound to love Mixwit, a new music streaming service.

At this shiny new beta plaything, all you have to do is get an account, search for music and create a mix. Then you share it.

The principle, I suppose is similar to that of Audiomonster or Songza. Mixwit doesn’t store these songs themselves, but scrapes the internet and links to it. You can however, store your own music and have your Mixwit playlist get the MP3s from there.

But what they’ve done is remix the idea in such a brilliant way, it’s by far the coolest and cutest way to share music I’ve seen.

Okay, it is a beta and it doesn’t yet work flawlessly (no embed on WP it seems), but that shouldn’t matter for now. It’s a playground, it’s fun and it looks fab.

So, here’s one I did.

It’s actually a playlist I have in iTunes that I listened to a lot a while back. I actually burned a CD of it too, but this is way neater.

Tell me what you think. Need some feedback on this one.

Shout out to Molly from DemoGirl who beat me to this and did a better job of explaining the service
