The Watchful Eye of Google

By Nils Geylen

Those Google boys and girls!

Now they’re keeping an eye out on my GMail and whether I’m not accidentally logged into to my account elsewhere.

It happens, when I’ve been logged in at work and leave the PC on, then logon from home, or elsewhere.

It also happens when someone else logs in to your account and steals your data.

So, it was nice to see this little addition at the bottom of the GMail page:

My GMail account has a new feature

My GMail has a new feature: last account activity

When you click on that Details link, you get an overview of what you’ve been up to, and where. And there’s the option to sign out of any other accounts at the same time as well.

Mind that button: sign out all other sessions

Another addition to Google’s attempts at creating secure web based email. Nice.

If Hotmail had something like this in 2000, I’d still have my very first e-mail address that I created in 94-95.
